About me

My name is Cristina Aced and I am a journalist and an independent communication consultant. I live in Barcelona and work on the Internet :)

I offer in-company training and teach in Barcelona at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and the Abat Oliba CEU University.

I am passionate about the communicative opportunities that the Internet opens up and since 2006 I have written about digital communication in my blog and published six books on this subject. My most recent book is Relaciones públicas 2.0.

My strengths

A passion for communication and knowledge of the digital environment.

More than 10 years’ experience in corporate communication.

My professional experience

Before embarking on a career as freelance journalist and communication consultant, I successfully managed the digital presence of the Public-Private Sector Research Center of the IESE Business School in Barcelona.

At the Communication Department of the College of Physicians of Barcelona (COMB), I was in charge of media relations and wrote press releases and contents for corporate publications. At the PR agency Orbyce I was the Account Executive in Healthcare.

While still a student, I was a presenter at several local radio stations such as COM Ràdio, Ràdio Estel and Ona de Sants-Montjuïc, where I covered news and conducted interviews. Also, I published articles in some local newspapers such as El 9 Punt del Vallès Occidental and L’Informatiu de Sants.

My education

After completing my Degree in Journalism at the Pompeu Fabra University, I obtained a Master’s Degree in Corporate Communication Management from the EAE Business School in Barcelona. My interest in new technologies led me to my Master’s Degree in Information and the Knowledge Society from the Open University of Catalonia, where I am also currently completing my PhD studies in persuasive communication.

Read the opinions of my clients and what the media say about my work (in Spanish).
